Grandpa Portman's Legacy

Today I killed a Hollowgast. You could say that today, I took the first step towards the giant shoes that Grandpa Portman left behind for me. But barely anything good happened today.

Another Ymbryne came to our loop today to warn us about the Hollowgast. Apparently, the Hollowgast have been raiding loops and taking the Ymbryne. Strangely enough, leaving all the peculiar children behind.

Emma, Bronwyn, a couple of other peculiars, and I decided to take matters into our own hands to see if there truly was a Wight or Hollowgast on our island. However, we were attacked by the Hollowgast while investigating. As we ran back to the loop, we discovered that a Wight had kidnapped Miss Peregrine and her friend, leaving all the peculiars locked in the basement. A group of us took off to where Millard had been able to follow the Wight to. We arrived at the docks to find that the Wight was rowing the only boat to a lighthouse, not too far out. Some of us immediately jumped in and started swimming after Miss Peregrine. After a long fight in which a lot of us were left injured and tired, we managed to save Miss Peregrine, but not her friend. However, we soon incountered more problems.

Knowing that we had to leave, I had to make a choice. Either stay behind and risk being found by the Hollowgast, who had found Grandpa Portman, and thus knew where I was too. Or leave with the peculiars. I decided to leave with the peculiars and left my dad, drunk, in the hotel to return without me.

But my decision was the least of our problems, you see. Miss Peregrine was stuck in the shape of a bird, and we had stop the Hollowgast, no matter what.
